Customer Service Representative
Job DescriptionThe Department of Parks and Recreation, Prince George's County Southern Recreation and Leisure Services Division, is looking for talented people to join our team. As the first point of contact for our residents and guests, Customer Service Representatives provide frontline support by greeting patrons, answering questions, and promoting a positive experience at community and recreation facilities. Examplesof Important Duties
Key Duties and
Responsibilities include:
- Responding to inquiries in person, and by phone
- Processing program registrations, memberships, and facility reservations
- Handling payments and basic recordkeeping
- Assisting with administrative tasks and daily facility operations
- Ensuring a safe, welcoming, and customer-focused environment while supporting staff, programs, and events across the division
Required:
All selected candidates must display excellent customer service skills. Requires periods of standing, frequent walking, repeated bending, stretching, or reaching. Minimum age of 18. Preferred:
- High School Diploma/GED
- First Aid, CPR, and AED certifications (Training classes available)
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work with well others and be part of a team
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- General cleaning of buildings
May be subject to medical, drug and alcohol testing.
Work hours:
- Variety of shifts available, which may include evenings and weekends, depending on schedules and events.
Working Conditions/Environment:
- Indoors and outdoors, sometimes during varying weather conditions.

Limited Benefits for Seasonal Employees:
- Health Insurance Plans:
You are eligible for specific health insurance benefits if you worked, on average, 30 hours per week during your first 12 months of employment or from October 3rd to October 2nd each subsequent period following your first 12 months of employment. This equates to 1,560 hours over a 12-month period. If and when you are eligible for benefits, you will receive notification directly from the Health & Benefits Office.
Eligible Employees Pay 35% of the health insurance plan premium and The Commission Pays 65%. - Medical:
