Exciting opportunity to provide subject matter expertise in cloud engineering and technologies, providing recommendations and insights to US Army Product Managers.
Responsibilities- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into cloud infrastructure strategies and solutions.
- Design and deploy scalable, secure, and high-performing cloud environments on-prem and in the cloud, leveraging cloud-native technologies and services.
- Collaborate with developers, security teams, and other IT professionals to design and implement CI/CD pipelines, automation, and infrastructure provisioning.
- Ensure security and compliance principles are implemented, including access controls, data protection, and adherence to government/DoD standards.
- Optimize cloud environments for performance, scalability, and cost efficiency, monitoring and troubleshooting any issues that may arise.
- Stay updated with the latest trends and advancements in cloud technologies and infrastructure automation, continuously enhancing knowledge and skills and advising stakeholders of possible impacts.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members, fostering a culture of learning and growth.
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or similar.
- 7 years of professional experience with at least 5 years of experience in software development, cloud engineering, or systems administration.
- Significant experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Microsoft Azure) to leverage cloud services for scalable and flexible infrastructure solutions.
- Experience working in DoD Impact Level 5 and 6 (IL5/IL6) environments.
- DoD Secret clearance with ability to obtain a DoD Top Secret Clearance.
Desired:
- Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or similar.
- DoD Top Secret Clearance.
- Proficiency with container orchestration services such as Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service (EKS), and Amazon Elastic Container Service (ECS).
- Strong knowledge of Linux and scripting languages such as Power Shell.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, Ansible, and Cloud Formation.
- Understanding of networking concepts (VPCs, subnets, firewalls) and security best practices in a cloud environment.
- AZ-104 Microsoft Azure Administrator certification.
- Knowledge of programming languages (Python, Java).
- Experience in working in Agile methodology.
