Project Officer (Acquisitions) – EW&C, MAG Aerospace
MAG Aerospace is offering up to a $10,000 sign‑on bonus for qualified candidates. This role supports the Product Manager Tactical Spectrum Warfare (PdM TSW) on program‑management activities. The Project Officer will perform continuous management and review of cost, schedule, performance and supportability of projects/programs/products as they transition through the acquisition life cycle from research, development, production, fielding and sustainment. The Officer provides technical assistance, acquisition expertise, and task management/completion to ensure mission accomplishment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Develop and coordinate strategies to execute financial management, DoD acquisition, fielding and training, and logistical support for hardware, software, and services required by assigned projects
- Conceive new approaches to various near‑term and long‑range projects and present to the PdM TSW staff and leadership team
- Plan and conduct highly complex program/system reviews and initiate reports which are provided to higher headquarters and other commands with recommendations on best courses of action
- Provide pre‑ and post‑award acquisition support, including market research, cost analysis, performance requirements, and rough orders of magnitude
- Conduct various internal and external stakeholder engagements
- Translate operational mission needs into acquisition, technical, and programmatic requirements
- Track acquisition documentation, action items, and comments to closure
- Track programmatic issues and risks to ensure they are addressed in acquisition documentation
- Support development of program office estimates, independent cost estimates, Memorandums of Agreements, and technical evaluations
- Research, analyze, assess, and coordinate acquisition program documentation in support of milestone decisions and other key activities/events
- Develop and/or coordinate program documentation including long‑range plans, policies, integrated master plan (IMP), integrated master schedule (IMS)
- Assist in developing spend plans, unfunded requirements (UFR) plans/submissions, acquisition requirements packages, strategic portfolio analysis review (SPAR), and program objective memoranda (POM)
- Review program documentation and make recommendations concerning long‑range plans, policies, and schedules to improve the programmatic and technical effectiveness of the management team
- Perform other duties as assigned
- 10+ years experience in acquisition program management
- Expert knowledge of DoD Program Management (PMP or DAWIA) and the full range of related principles and practices, including budgeting, strategic planning, funding, and resource management
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; required to coordinate with senior level Army leaders, multiple PEO representatives, and internal/external PM and PdM representatives
- Active Secret
- 10+ years experience in acquisition program management
- Bachelor’s degree in any discipline
- Active TS/SCI
- Ability to work within office, field and lab environments
- Ability to support up to 15% travel to Army and contractor locations within CONUS and OCONUS
