Substitute Custodian

Description

Port Clinton City Schools is accepting applications for substitute custodians and immediate positions at Bataan Memorial Elementary.

• Perform a variety of tasks to ensure cleanliness of the building (e.g., scrubs, disinfects, dusts, wet mops, vacuums, strips, sweeps, waxes, empties trash, replenishes paper products, changes light bulbs, clock batteries).
• Use small tools common to the job (hammer, pliers, lawnmower, screwdriver, weed eater, etc.).
• Open and close the building by unlocking and locking doors, turning off lights, and securing windows.
• Maintain grounds around the building (mowing, weeding, trimming shrubbery, removing snow and ice, and keeping trash picked up).

• Physical, BCI/FBI, and written tests required; apply online at .
• High school diploma or equivalent. Post‑secondary training is desirable.
• Perform tasks in a self‑directed manner.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Demonstrate ability to read and interpret labels and warnings used on cleaning solutions.
• History of regular and predictable job attendance.
• Must pass mandated criminal background checks.
• Ability to work cooperatively with fellow workers.
