Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role for Vice President of Operations based in Maryland. We're at an inflection point: we've scaled to 15 locations across Maryland and Virginia, but our operational systems and management infrastructure haven't kept pace. We need a senior leader who can transform our operations while maintaining the clinical excellence and patient outcomes we're known for.

The VP of Operations reports directly to the COO and has full authority to restructure teams, standardize systems, and drive culture transformation across all locations. This is a hands‑on leadership role for someone who thrives in "fix it and scale it" environments.

What You'll Own

Immediate priorities (first 90 days):

  • Assess current state across all 15 locations—operations, culture, management effectiveness
  • Develop comprehensive operational plan with clear metrics and accountability
  • Restructure regional management layer and make tough personnel decisions
  • Establish trust with clinical teams and rebuild employee engagement

Strategic priorities (6-12 months):

  • Build scalable systems and processes to support continued growth
  • Standardize operations while maintaining quality and local market responsiveness
  • Implement performance management frameworks and develop leadership capability
  • Drive P&L performance and operational efficiency
  • Create infrastructure for opening new locations profitably

Day-to-day responsibilities:

  • Oversee all clinic operations across Maryland and Virginia (regular travel to all locations required, approximately 30-40%)
  • Lead and develop management team (regional managers, clinic managers)
  • Monitor financial performance and ensure exceptional patient experience
  • Partner with COO and medical leadership on strategic initiatives
  • Whatever needs to be done to ensure operational excellence—this role requires a "roll up your sleeves" mentality
Qualifications
  • 7-10+ years progressive operations leadership in multi-site healthcare settings
  • Proven track record managing 10+ locations (15+ preferred) with strong P&L management
  • Experience with culture transformation, reducing turnover, and building high-performing teams in high-growth environments
  • Success restructuring or building management teams from the ground up
  • Background in high-volume specialty care (medical spa, urgent care, specialty clinics, or similar)
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or related field required; MBA or equivalent advanced degree strongly preferred
  • Exceptional leadership, decision-making, and critical thinking abilities
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with ability to influence at all levels
What Makes Someone Successful Here
  • You're passionate about healthcare and genuinely care about helping people transform their lives
  • You're a builder who thrives in fast-paced, evolving environments where "that's not in my job description" isn't in your vocabulary
  • You make tough decisions quickly and execute with urgency
  • You develop people—you see potential and build leaders, not just manage tasks
  • You're systems-minded but deeply people-focused
  • You've turned around underperforming operations before and know how to balance growth with sustainability
  • You lead by example and aren't afraid to get your hands dirty
What We Offer
  • Real authority to make changes and build your operational vision
  • Direct report to COO with access to ownership and medical leadership
  • Opportunity to shape a rapidly growing healthcare organization (15 locations with room to expand)
  • Meaningful mission—we help thousands of patients transform their lives every month
