Assistant Cemetery Manager

Position Summary This position reports directly to the Resurrection Cemetery Manager. Candidate will assist the Manager, at the assigned cemetery, on managing the day-to-day operations of the cemetery. In the absence of the cemetery manager, and at the direction of the President/CEO of Catholic Cemeteries, assume the responsibilities for managing operations of the assigned cemetery.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Managing the day to day operations of assigned cemetery on behalf of absent cemetery manager.
• Assisting manager of assigned cemetery in the performance of his/her duties.
• Presenting and selling cemetery goods and services.
• Directing daily funeral activities
• Performing administrative, operational, supervisory, and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications A successful candidate for this position must possess strong supervisory,interpersonal, and communication skills - both written and oral. No cemetery experience is necessary, however prior positive management experience is required. Candidate must also have the ability and willingness to work flexible hours, Monday through Saturday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM and have a valid driver's license in addition to the following:

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college of university preferred.
• Lift and carry 80 pounds unassisted; ability to perform repeated tasks of bending, kneeling, stooping, and extensive walking.
• Work in adverse weather conditions (i.e. extreme summer heat, extreme winter cold, and other extremes of weather related to outdoor elements)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Knowledge of and support for the tenets of the Roman Catholic Church.
