Position: Travel Nurse RN - Labor and Delivery - $2,001 per week

Job Description

Fusion Medical Staffing is seeking a Travel Labor and Delivery RN for a 13‑week assignment in Clinton, Maryland. Required Qualifications
  • One year’s recent experience as a Labor and Delivery RN
  • Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations
  • Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC)
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) Certification
Preferred Qualifications
  • AWHONN Fetal Monitoring Certification
  • STABLE and ACLS Certifications (AHA / ARC)
  • Other certifications and licenses may be required for this position
Essential Work Functions
  • Communicate labor and delivery procedures to patients and families, providing reassurance and addressing concerns
  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved obstetric nursing techniques
  • Prepare equipment and aid physician during labor, delivery, and examination of patients
  • Provide immediate postpartum care, including assessment and stabilization of mother and newborn
  • Educate patients and families on postpartum recovery, breastfeeding, and newborn care
  • Collaborate with obstetricians, anesthesiologists, neonatologists, and other team members to deliver cohesive care
  • Respond to obstetric emergencies, including preeclampsia, hemorrhage, or fetal distress, using evidence-based protocols
  • Document patient care, assessments, and interventions accurately in the medical record
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance maternal and neonatal outcomes
  • Perform fetal monitoring and interpret results
  • Assist in cesarean sections and other obstetric procedures
  • Comply with all regulatory standards, including hospital policies, state laws, and federal guidelines for obstetric nursing care
  • Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of labor and delivery nursing
Required Essential Skills
  • Critical thinking, service excellence, and good interpersonal communication skills
  • The ability to read, write, and communicate in the English language
  • Ability to read/comprehend written instructions, follow verbal instructions, and proficiency in PC skills
  • Physical Abilities – must be able to remain in a stationary position, move about, move equipment (50-100lbs), push, pull, and bend
  • Interpersonal Skills – must be able to work effectively with a variety of personnel (professional and ancillary) to present a positive attitude and professionalism
  • Technical/Motor Skills – must have the ability to grasp, perform fine manipulation, push/pull, and move about when assisting with procedures and/or using department equipment
  • Mental Requirements – must be able to cope with frequent contact with the general public and customers while meeting deadlines under pressure
  • Sensory – must possess visual acuity and ability to effectively communicate

Job details:
Pay package is based on 12-hour shifts and 36 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with tax-free stipend amount to be determined. Job .
