American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Med/Surg Tele unit requiring MD or compact license, 2 years of experience with a 1:6 ratio, and completion of at least one prior travel assignment.

• Med/Surg Tele unit caring for cardiac monitored and orthopedic patients
• Patient ratio of 1:6
• Day (3x12, 7a-7p) or Night (3x12, 7p-7a) shifts, no rotation between AM and PM in the same week
• Every other weekend required
• Floating required
• Uses Pyxis medication system
• Cerner charting experience preferred

• Active RN license (MD or Compact) required
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of recent experience within the last 7 years required
• Must have completed at least one travel assignment prior
• 1:6 patient ratio experience required
• Cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation/management skills required
• Care of orthopedic patients skills required
• Must pass Relias EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam with minimum 80% overall and 100% on lethal rhythms
• Two supervisory references required, including one from the most recent assignment, supporting at least 2 years of experience in the previous 3 years

• Provide nursing care for medical-surgical and telemetry patients, including cardiac monitoring and orthopedic care
• Previous charge experience and ortho trauma/total joint replacement experience preferred
• Scrubs not provided, ceil blue scrub color required
• No RTO permitted during the first two weeks of the assignment, maximum 7 days RTO per 13-week contract
• Local candidates within 60 miles accepted at a lower rate
• Previous Med Star employees must have been separated for at least one year before returning as a traveler
