American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele Float position requiring 2 years of recent experience and prior travel assignment experience.

• MS/Tele Float role within a hospital setting
• 3x12 Day shift schedule, 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• 1:6 patient ratio
• Cerner charting system experience required
• Every other weekend required
• Holiday coverage as needed
• No on-call responsibilities
• Float required within skillset and acuity level

• Active RN license (Compact or MD) required
• Current certifications: BLS and NIHSS required; ACLS preferred
• Minimum 2 years of recent experience within the last 7 years
• Must have completed at least one prior travel assignment
• Must pass the Relias EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam with a minimum 80% overall score and 100% on lethal rhythms
• Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, port access/management, blood product administration, and PICC line management
• Experience with respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, HFNC, and ABG interpretation
• Experience with neurological conditions including CVA, TBI, and spinal cord injury
• Skilled in cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation/management
• Experience with wound care, isolation precautions/PPE, and total joint replacement care
• Experience managing renal patients including pre/post hemodialysis care
• Previous charge experience preferred

• Provide direct patient care in a fast-paced Med/Surg Telemetry unit with a diverse patient population
• Local candidates within 60 miles accepted at a lower rate
• Flu vaccine required for all employees at this facility
• No RTO permitted during the first two weeks of the assignment, with a maximum of 7 days RTO per 13-week contract
• Previous Med Star employees must have been separated for at least one year before returning as a traveler
• First-time travelers are not eligible for this position
