General Summary of Position

The Research Associate for the Prince George's County Healthy Start Enhanced Project contributes to and manages key research evaluation and data-driven components of the initiative under the supervision of the Principal Investigator/Project Director. The Research Associate plays a pivotal role in supporting the Healthy Start Enhanced whole-family care model by leading and coordinating data collection analysis and interpretation related to maternal and infant health outcomes health equity and program effectiveness.

This role works closely with program leadership community-based partners and internal research teams to ensure accurate tracking of deliverables timely reporting and alignment with HRSA Healthy Start performance measures and evaluation requirements. The Research Associate supports continuous quality improvement by translating data into actionable insights that inform program planning implementation and sustainability.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities
  • Analyzes interprets and synthesizes quantitative and qualitative program data using appropriate statistical and analytical tools to support evaluation performance monitoring and continuous quality improvement.
  • Prepares administers and manages program data collection materials including informed consent documents surveys and tracking tools; independently conducts consenting of prospective participants in accordance with IRB-approved protocols.
  • Writes completes and contributes to all required programmatic and evaluation deliverables including internal reports HRSA-required reports presentations and data summaries to ensure timely and accurate documentation of outcomes and impact.
  • Coordinates and manages participant recruitment efforts for program initiatives including outreach screening enrollment tracking and ongoing communication with participants and community partners.
  • Maintains reviews and updates REDCap regularly to ensure program data accuracy completeness and timeliness; conducts data quality checks and ensures records reflect current program stat
  • Ensures compliance with ethical standards regulatory requirements and programmatic protocols including proper documentation reporting and data security.
  • Assists with grant and funding-related activities by supporting data reporting evaluation narratives and performance metrics.
Minimal Qualifications Education
  • Bachelor's degree in a health science or related field required
  • One year of relevant education may be substituted for one year of required work experience.
Experience
  • 5-7 years as a research assistant required
  • One year of relevant professional-level work experience may be substituted for one year of required education.
Knowledge

Skills and Abilities
  • Technical

    Skills:

    Proficiency with data analysis tools (e.g. SPSS SAS R) and research software; knowledge of statistical methods.
  • Knowledge:
    Familiarity with research methodology and regulatory guidelines in clinical and health services research.
  • Critical Thinking:
    Ability to analyze complex research data and interpret findings.
  • Problem-Solving:
    Resourceful in troubleshooting issues in the research process.

This position has a hiring range of : USD $23.65 - USD $42.03 /Hr.
