Schedule:
40 hours per week.
A vacancy exists in the Department of Public Works and Transportation, Bureau of Utilities.

Under general supervision, plans, coordinates, supervises, and participates in the operation, repair, maintenance, inspection, and installation of mechanical, electrical, and electronic components used in sewerage pumping stations and treatment plants.
Responsibilities- Plans, coordinates, supervises, and participates in the repair, maintenance, inspection, and installation of mechanical, electrical, and electronic components used in sewerage pumping stations, treatment plants, and related facilities.
- Interacts with and possess a high knowledge of Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition Alarms (SCADA) and other mechanical, electrical, and electronic equipment used in sewerage pumping stations, treatment plants, and related facilities.
- Prepares, reviews, and assigns daily work orders to Pumping Station Electricians, Electricians, Pumping Station Mechanics, and others.
- Coordinates the work of the crew with the work of other crews, County agencies, and outside contractors.
- Provides technical assistance to crews.
- Operates tools and equipment.
- Supervises and participates in the routine maintenance and cleaning of stations.
- Responds to emergencies and alarms of equipment malfunctions at pumping stations.
- Operates sewerage pumping stations safely and in compliance with local, State, and Federal environmental regulations.
- Responds to Grinder Pump System issues and alarms.
- Prepares requisitions and procures materials and equipment.
- Performs physical inventories of assets.
- Maintains records of crew activities.
- Prepares reports.
- Participates in and conducts safety training exercises.
- Ensures that crews follow established safety procedures.
- Performs other related duties as required.

Eight years' experience in the repair, maintenance, and installation of mechanical, electrical, and electronic equipment used in sewerage pumping stations, treatment plants, and related facilities.
Related training may be substituted on a year-for-year basis up to a maximum of two years for the required experience.
Licenses and CertificatesPossession of a valid driver's license equivalent to a non-commercial, class C Maryland driver's license is required at the time of appointment.
Some positions may require possession of a valid driver’s license equivalent to a commercial, class B or class A Maryland driver’s license and a current Medical Examiner’s Certificate in accordance with Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations.
