THE ROLE
Amrize, a leading supplier of quality, construction building materials in the United States, has an opening for a Mobile Equipment Mechanic to support operations in the Asphalt Division in Clinton, MD. The Mobile Equipment Mechanic will be responsible for performing diesel mechanic work, including diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel engines and heavy mobile equipment. They will also perform preventive maintenance and troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues to keep asphalt paving equipment safe and operational.
WHATYOU'LL ACCOMPLISH
Transport and drive equipment to and from regionally located job sites in a safe timely manner.
Diagnose and repair diesel engines, heavy mobile equipment, and asphalt paving machinery.
Perform preventive maintenance and routine inspections to ensure equipment remains safe and operational.
Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic, electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic systems.
Conduct engine tune-ups, oil changes, filter replacements, and other scheduled maintenance.
Inspect equipment for mechanical issues and identify potential problems before they lead to breakdowns.
Repair and replace defective engine components, pumps, belts, hoses, brakes, and other mechanical parts.
Respond to equipment breakdowns and perform field repairs at asphalt paving job sites as needed.
Maintain accurate records of repairs, maintenance activities, parts used, and equipment condition.
Follow all company safety procedures and ensure equipment meets applicable safety and operating standards.
Work closely with operators and supervisors to identify equipment issues and minimize downtime in Asphalt Division operations.
Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.
Education:
High School Diploma or GED Equivalent | Completion of a diesel technology, heavy equipment mechanics, or automotive technology program from a technical school is preferred.Required Licesnse:
Minimum CDL Class B with required endorsements (Ability to operate both a manual and an automatic transmission)Required
Work Experience:
Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience as a Diesel Mechanic, Heavy Equipment Mechanic, or Mobile Equipment Mechanic.Travel Requirements:
Daily travel required.Proven experience working with diesel-powered heavy equipment, preferably in asphalt, construction, or similar industries.
