Community Development Assistant (I/II)
Position grade A12/14 in the Family Health Services Division (WIC Program). This entry‑level para‑professional community development role supports professional staff in community liaison/development/advocacy and social services activities.
Key Responsibilities- Perform entry para‑professional assignments.
- Assist in fact‑finding and assessment of client needs.
- Screen for financial and residential eligibility per federal and state WIC guidelines.
- Interpret assessment data and determine nutrition risk according to State WIC policies.
- Assign and document appropriate food packages per WIC Local Agency Procedure Manual.
- Assist in planning, development, and enforcement of regular scheduled programs and special events for clients; develop and implement plans to establish liaison and acquire support services.
- Collaborate with coworkers and supervisors to accomplish program mission and goals.
- Assist with the establishment and maintenance of supplies, equipment, transportation, and other logistical services.
- Prepare and submit reports and data for management purposes.
- Perform additional tasks within the general occupational category as required.
- High school graduation; supplemented by college‑level courses in business, psychology, or sociology.
- Experience requiring independent action based on mature judgment.
- Any equivalent combination of relevant training, education, and experience may be considered.
