Job DescriptionOrganizational Relationship or Line of Authority: Responsible for instructional and general duties as indicated by the High School Administration, Department Chair, directives of the Superintendent of Schools or his/her designees, and policies of the Clinton School Committee.
Job Summary: Clinton High School is looking for a dynamic teaching professional to become part of a caring and committed staff. As a teacher at CHS you will become part of our community. You will be expected to promote learning and growth of all students providing high-quality instruction, authentic and meaningful student assessments, analyzing student data, and using data to improve instruction, continuously providing students with constructive feedback, and continuously refining learning objectives.
This professional will also maintain instructional practices that establish high expectations, create a safe and effective learning environment, and demonstrate cultural proficiency. It is expected that the individual will effectively partner with families, caregivers, community members, and organizations to promote learning along with maintaining an ethical, culturally proficient, skilled, and collaborative practice as a professional educator.

Job RequirementsStatement of Duties:
- Teaching Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II and/or Statistics classes
- Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of the subject matter
- Develops and maintains a classroom environment conducive to effective learning
- Prepares for classes assigned and shows written evidence of preparation using a weekly, up to date planbook
- Designs and administers informal and formal assessments
- Organizes and analyzes results from assessments
- Uses engaging instructional practices for all students
- Employs two-way communication with families
- Shows understanding of and sensitivity to different families' home language, culture, and values
- Reflects on the effectiveness of lessons, units, and interactions with students
- Is able to create and align curriculum to the MA Curriculum Frameworks
- Responsible for the promotion of equity and appreciation of diversity to ensure equitable opportunities for student learning, including, for implementing specific strategies for students with special needs, with 504 plans and or second language learners
Qualifications:
- Required:
A Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited college or university - Required:
Valid Massachusetts Department of Elementary & Secondary Education teacher licensure in Mathematics, grades 8-12 - Knowledge of MA Curriculum frameworks, curriculum, instruction, and assessment
- Knowledge of differentiated instruction and response to intervention
- Preferred: SEI endorsement

Successful experience or practice teaching in the secondary grades - Preferred:
Bilingual in English and Spanish or Portuguese
Abilities:
- Technology Use – School System Database, standard Microsoft and Google products and web-based sites
- Learning Strategies — Selecting and using instructional methods and procedures appropriate for the situation
- Team Player— Being respectful as part of a team and displaying constructive, collaborative behaviors
- At least 1 year(s) of relevant experience preferred.
