Position: Registration Representative ED Clinton - Evenings, 32-Hours

Exemption Status: Non-Exempt

Hiring Range: $15.00 - $27.00

Major Responsibilities
  • Excellent customer service skills and knowledge, including service recovery.
  • Accurately collect and enter all patient demographic and financial information for all registration types, including obtaining signatures, scanning documents (ROB’s, ’s, etc.), obtaining ABN’s/IMM’s when applicable and collecting patient financial responsibility.
  • Use reference material as necessary to ensure proper action and seek guidance when appropriate.
  • Follow downtime procedures as established and proactively work on downtime tasks such as DL’s, Insurance Management desktop, renaming faxed orders, cleanup of old/used orders, and ensuring work and patient waiting areas are neat and presentable.
  • Understand the impact of role on Press Ganey/HCAHPS scores and focus on positively influencing patient experience and likelihood to recommend.
  • Process pre‑registrations for all appointment types and locations, excluding ER.
  • Answer phone calls and return voicemails in a timely manner.
  • Seek guidance from the department manager when uncertain or when unusual situations occur; avoid impulsive or hasty decisions.
  • Treat everyone as a customer and establish good relationships with patients, visitors, ancillary departments and physician office personnel.
  • Use all eligibility resources to verify correct insurance in the account.
  • Work well within the team environment and maintain open communication with co‑workers, including during meal breaks and shift changes.
  • Accurately estimate patient financial liability and perform active collections, receipts, posting and reconciliation of cash.
  • Consistently meet or exceed Quality Review scores of 80%, 9 out of 12 months of the year.

  • Demonstrate use of Quality Improvement in daily operations.

Position Qualifications License/Certification/Education
  • High school graduate or GED required.
Experience/Skills Required
  • Customer service experience.
  • Receive on‑the‑job training under close supervision.
Preferred
  • Previous clerical and Meditech experience (desirable but not required).
  • Good understanding of medical terminology helpful.
