Position Summary
Nypro Mold is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented EDM Operator to join our precision tooling team. The EDM Operator will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining EDM equipment to produce high-precision mold components that meet exact specifications and quality standards. This position plays a critical role in supporting our mold manufacturing operations by ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and on-time delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate Sinker EDM machines
- Read and interpret blueprints, CAD drawings, and process sheets
- Perform electrode setup, alignment, and burn operations
- Monitor machine performance and adjust offsets as needed
- Inspect finished components using precision measuring tools
- Maintain required documentation and production records
- Perform routine machine maintenance and troubleshooting
- Work collaboratively with Toolmakers, Programmers, and Engineering teams
- Follow all company safety procedures and quality standards
Qualifications
- 2+ years of EDM operating experience
- Experience in mold manufacturing or precision machining environment strongly preferred
- Ability to read and understand blueprints
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Ability to work independently and manage priorities
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training a plus
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment
