• High School diploma or equivalent;
• Three (3) years of previous experience in handling, capturing, transporting and caring for domestic animals, livestock, and common urban wildlife;

• Must be available on an “on-call” basis 24 hours a day to provide emergency services, as required, on evenings, week-ends and holidays
• Must possess and maintain a valid Massachusetts Driver’s license and be Massachusetts State certified as an Animal Control Officer.

• Must be able to tolerate unpleasant sights, sounds and odors when handling animals that are stray, injured, diseased or dangerous.
• Must be able to perform moderate physical activity, such as, walking on uneven terrain, climbing, balancing, bending, kneeling, stooping, stretching, twisting and crawling, and lifting up to 25 lbs.
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 100 pounds, and push and pull up to 200 pounds, as required.
