Position: Maintenance Mechanic-40 HPW-Nights

Exemption Status: Non-Exempt

Hiring Range: $20.11 - $36.19

Major Responsibilities

Uses tools ranging from common hand and power tools, such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, and wrenches, to measuring instruments and electrical and electronic testing devices.

Assists skilled trades workers to help assemble, install or repair wiring, electrical and electronic components, pipe systems and plumbing, machinery, HVAC equipment, etc.

Performs a variety of basic plumbing maintenance and carpentry functions.

Paints and repairs roofs, windows, doors, floors, woodwork, plaster, drywall, and other parts of building structures.

Records type and cost of maintenance repair work.

Diagnoses basic problems, replaces or repairs parts, tests and makes adjustments.

Reads and interprets equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.

Provides basic emergency/unscheduled repairs of facility equipment.

Maintains facility equipment and related fixtures in good working order; maintains preventive maintenance documentation and maintenance schedules.

Performs preventative maintenance (PM) duties as scheduled, 100% correctly; cleans, changes filters, checks every aspect and documents problems until resolved.

Interprets readings from gauges, meters, recording devices and computerized control systems.

Detects faulty operations, defective material and reports them to proper supervision.

Seeks to understand and meet and/or exceed the needs and expectations of customers; treats customers with respect, responds professionally, provides accurate and timely service, communicates status, develops positive relationships, demonstrates commitment to quality service.

Documentation:
All job tasks must be documented on a work order form or in daily calendar with details (location, parts, date, staff name, time).

Position Qualifications License/Certification/Education

High school diploma/GED and additional education or training in building trades.
Massachusetts driver's license.

Experience / Skills

At least one year of relevant experience required. 2+ years of relevant experience.
An equivalent combination of education and experience which provides proficiency in the areas of responsibility listed above may be substituted.
