Facilities Maintenance Technician III

The Facility Maintenance Technician III is responsible for completing scheduled maintenance, scheduling of routine repairs, inspection sheets and supply needs. Maintenance Technicians inspect wiring, repair pipes, troubleshoot equipment, replace light bulbs, install new equipment, HVAC, plumbing and preventive maintenance. They document and monitor temperature control systems to ensure safety and identify discrepancies that could indicate a machinery problem. Essential duties and responsibilities include performing routine maintenance on all plant equipment and facilities in accordance with prescribed procedures, performing minor machinery repairs when necessary, following standard operating procedures, installing, inspecting, repairing, and performing preventative maintenance to mechanical, electrical, plumbing and HVAC while maintaining safety, working with or assisting trades contractors to complete projects or complex repairs, monitoring and maintaining facilities including heating, cooling, and lighting systems, operating shop floor cleaning machine as needed, groundskeeping as needed, removing snow from doorways and walkways when necessary, fabrication as part of Continual Improvement projects, providing production support including monitoring and maintaining CNC coolant, coordinating with machinists to manage scrap metal containment and removal, waste containment and removal (cardboard, pallets, trash, etc.),

operating forklift and moving stock and equipment when needed, performing all functions of the job while adhering to established quality policies and procedures, upholding the company core values, and other duties as assigned.

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications to perform this job successfully include excellent attention to detail, experience operating and servicing all plant maintenance equipment, capability of reading blueprints, specifications, and repair manuals, considerable knowledge of the tools, equipment, materials, methods, and standard practices of the trade, excellent communication skills, both written and oral, and must be adaptable to a changing work environment and competing demands.

Education and/or experience include a high school diploma or general education degree (GED) and 4-6 years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language skills include the ability to speak and understand basic safety and manufacturing instructions.

Mathematical skills include the ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers. Ability to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.

Reasoning ability includes the ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Certificates, licenses, registrations include authorization to work in the United States. To conform to U.S. export control regulations, you should be eligible for any required authorizations from the U.S. Government.

Physical demands include standing, walking, and hearing. The team member frequently uses hands and fingers; handles, feels, and reaches with hands and arms. The team member is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and smell. The team member must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Work environment characteristics include exposure to moving mechanical parts, a hot and/or cold work environment, chemicals, fumes or airborne particles, loud noises, risk of electrical shock and vibration and/or other occupational hazards; personal protective equipment may be required.
