Music Teacher

St. Thecla Catholic School is looking for a Music Teacher for our Kindergarten through eighth-grade students. The Elementary Music Teacher is responsible for developing and leading a comprehensive music program for students in Kindergarten through eighth grade, fostering a love of music while supporting students' musical, academic, social, and spiritual growth. The teacher creates engaging lessons in music appreciation, vocal and instrumental performance, rhythm, movement, and music literacy within a positive, nurturing classroom environment.

The teacher candidate should be able to:

• Plan and deliver age-appropriate music instruction aligned with curriculum standards and school expectations.
• Teach fundamental music concepts, including rhythm, melody, harmony, tempo, dynamics, and music appreciation.
• Prepare students for seasonal programs and performances.
• Integrate creativity, movement, and participation into daily lessons.
• Foster a classroom environment that promotes respect, cooperation, and enthusiasm for music.
• Maintain classroom instruments, music resources, and equipment.
• Communicate effectively with parents regarding student progress and upcoming performances.
• Uphold school policies, procedures, and educational mission.
• Occasional evening events or performances may be required.
• Supports and promotes the mission and values of St. Thecla Catholic School.
• Incorporates faith-based values and appropriate sacred music into instruction
• Models Christian behavior and values in all interactions with students, families, and staff.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Music Education or related field.
• Valid teaching certification/license preferred or required according to state guidelines.
• Knowledge of elementary music instruction and child development.
• Ability to direct student performances and manage classroom behavior effectively.
• Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
