Job Responsibilities:

Responsible for proper handling, storage, packing, preservation and delivery of material and product per work instructions plans to utilize IATF
16949 documented systems and authority to initiate appropriate action necessary to prevent non-conformance to customer specifications

* Oversee purchase and installation of machinery & equipment to ensure specifications are met; plan, organize and maintain equipment and process data

* Help to develop weld technology to keep Eagle Bend at the forefront of our industry

* Develop and write equipment specifications, performance requirements, cost analysis, and proposals for integrating machinery and equipment such as robots, robot controllers, and programmable controllers into manufacturing process

* Assist with Eagle Bend's Weld Excellence efforts to meet or exceed customer requirements

* Assist with programming and troubleshooting of robotic welders and ancillary equipment

* Advance Product Quality Planning (APQP) process.

* Participate in meetings, seminars, and training sessions to stay apprised of new developments in field

* Interface with co-workers in other departments, such as maintenance, manufacturing and quality, to provide technical information and support

* Develop operating procedures and resolve system malfunctions

* Determine parts supply, maintenance tasks, safety procedures, and service schedule required to maintain machines and equipment in prescribed condition

* Develop alternative processing methods for the Continuous Improvement of quality and manufacturing standards leading to cost reductions

* Lead cross-functional teams as required for problem-solving and resolution

* Maximize production efficiency by reducing equipment downtime

* Assist both internal and external Program Engineers at development stage during the

* Develop and implement Continuous Improvement suggestions

* Housekeeping and other duties as assigned

Education

* 4 year degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Welding, Manufacturing) or documented equivalent combination of education & work related experience required

Technical Knowledge

* Knowledge of weld processes, both MIG and resistance spot welding

* Knowledge of Programming of robotic welders and repairs to same

* Blueprint reading (GD&T and drawings)

* Basic and advanced electrical knowledge including ability to read schematics

* Hydraulics and pneumatics

* Good mathematical knowledge including trigonometry

* CAD/CAM (Computer Aided Design/Manufacturing)

Qualifications

* 2 - 4 years related work experience in automotive product design or manufacturing

* Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams such as design engineering, quality, maintenance, and production to improve manufacturability and production efficiency.

* Familiarity with manufacturing documentation including work instructions, process flow diagrams, PFMEAs, control plans, and standard operating procedures.

* Experience analyzing production issues, implementing corrective actions, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives such as Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma projects.

* Understanding of automotive quality standards and production requirements, including tight tolerances, high-volume production, and cost efficiency.

* Knowledge of metal stamping operations, including die processes, press setup, material handling, and troubleshooting stamping defects.

* Familiarity with automotive welding processes such as robotic MIG welding, spot welding, or resistance welding used in body or component assembly.

* Experience supporting assembly line processes, including workstation design, tooling, ergonomic considerations, and cycle time optimization.

* Ability to evaluate and improve manufacturing processes to increase throughput, reduce scrap, and improve product quality.

* Exposure to automation, robotics, and tooling commonly used in automotive manufacturing environments.
