Assistant Professor of Biology

The Department of Biology at Mississippi College, a distinguished small private Christian university, is seeking an experienced professional for the full-time, tenure track position of Assistant Professor of Biology beginning in August of 2026. The primary teaching responsibilities will be in the area of Cell Biology at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Reporting to the Chair of the Department of Biology, the successful candidate will demonstrate excellence in teaching, engagement in scholarly activity, and support of the mission of the College as a Christian institution of higher education.

Primary Responsibilities

* Teach undergraduate and graduate courses primarily in Cell Biology.

* Contribute to related courses within the biology curriculum based on departmental needs.

* Develop and revise course syllabi in alignment with program learning outcomes and accreditation standards.

* Deliver instruction using effective pedagogical practices appropriate for undergraduate and graduate education.

* Provide academic advising and mentorship to students.

* Participate in assessment of student learning and program effectiveness.

Required Qualifications

* Ph.D.

* Ability to effectively teach undergraduate and graduate courses
