Responsibilities

Assist the special education or regular education teacher in all phases of classroom activities to meet the needs of special education students.

Assist the special education teacher in implementing the components of each child’s Individual Education Plan (IEP).

Assist the special education teacher in providing for the physical needs of the children in the class such as helping with toilet procedures, assisting in feeding the children, and attending to their individual needs.

Perform other duties as assigned by the special education director, teacher and/or principal.

Maintain regular in-person attendance.

Qualifications

Must have completed at least 2 years of study (48 semester hours) at an institution of higher education; or

Obtained an associate’s (or higher) degree; or

Met a rigorous standard of quality as determined by a formal assessment (Work Keys Test – Applied Mathematics score of 4, Graphic Literacy score of 4, Workplace Documents subtests score of
4).
