Title: Special Education Assistant

Reports to: Special Education Teacher and Principal

Starting Date: Jul 13, 2026

Position Type: Full Time

Contract Length: 9 months (187 days)

• Assist the special education or regular education teacher in all phases of classroom activities to meet the needs of special education students.
• Assist the special education teacher in implementing the components of each child’s Individual Education Plan (IEP).
• Assist the teacher in providing for the physical needs of the children, such as toilet procedures and feeding.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the special education director, teacher and/or principal.
• Maintain regular in‑person attendance.

• Must have completed at least 2 years of study (48 semester hours) at an institution of higher education; or
• Obtained an associate’s (or higher) degree; or
• Met a rigorous standard of quality as determined by a formal assessment, including a Work Keys Test score of 4 in Applied Mathematics, Graphic Literacy and Workplace Documents subtests.
