Empower students with hearing loss by providing specialized instruction as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing (TDHH) in a supportive educational environment. This part-time contract opportunity is ideal for passionate educators who are dedicated to ensuring equal access and meaningful learning experiences for students who are deaf or hard of hearing. Working 10-15 hours per week for the upcoming school year, you will play a pivotal role in fostering communication, academic achievement, and confidence in your students.

Qualifications & Desired

Experience:
  • Active teaching certification with appropriate endorsement for Deaf/Hard of Hearing (DHH)
  • Experience supporting K-12 students who are deaf or hard of hearing in public or private school settings
  • Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and/or other communication modalities used with DHH students
  • Demonstrated ability to create and adapt individualized education plans (IEPs)
  • Collaborative approach with classroom teachers, support staff, and families
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver direct instruction and support for students with hearing loss, tailored to IEP goals
  • Assess individual student needs and develop strategies to facilitate academic and social success
  • Consult regularly with general education teachers and related service providers to ensure accommodations and modifications are fully implemented
  • Engage families as partners in the learning process, providing resources and guidance as needed
  • Maintain accurate and timely progress monitoring and documentation
