• Provide behavioral health services to students referred for support within the school setting.
• Conduct behavioral health screenings, clinical assessments, mental health diagnoses, crisis assessments, and individualized treatment planning.
• Provide evidence-based psychotherapy and behavioral interventions designed to address students’ emotional, behavioral, developmental, and academic needs.
• Respond to students experiencing behavioral health crises, including conducting suicide risk and threat assessments and coordinating appropriate follow-up care.
• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, school counselors, families, and other members of the student support team to develop and implement individualized interventions.
• Consult with and support school staff regarding behavior management, classroom strategies, prevention and intervention techniques, and school-wide behavioral supports.
• Assist with the development, implementation, and monitoring of Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs), Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs), and other individualized student support plans.
• Connect students and families with appropriate behavioral health, psychiatric, community, and enhanced services when additional support is needed.
• Maintain timely and accurate clinical documentation, student records, treatment plans, progress notes, and other required documentation while protecting student confidentiality.
• Build positive relationships within assigned schools by participating in meetings, providing education and behavioral health resources to school staff, supporting agreed-upon school activities, and collaborating with community partners to promote student success.

Required:

• Graduation from an accredited/approved college or university with a master’s degree in counseling, school counseling, social work, or other human services related field.
• Active NC license in the related discipline (LCMHC, LCMHC-A, LCSW, LCSW-A)
• CPR/AED/First Aid Certificate from American Red Cross or American Heart Association OR BLS Certificate AND Basic First Aid Certificate from American Red Cross or American Heart Association
• NCI+ Preventive Certified

Preferred:

• 1+ years of clinical mental health experience
• Experience working in a public school setting
• Experience working with at-risk, adjudicated, or youth with behavioral and mental health needs
• Demonstrated experience supporting children with behavioral and emotional challenges.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, including experience with presentations, trainings, meetings, and multidisciplinary teams.
