HIM Analyst

Sampson Regional Medical Center is hiring a Health Information Analyst to join the join the HIM team!

The selected candidate for this position will perform quantitative analysis on discharged in patients, same day surgery, and observation charts regarding the electronic medical records. Assigns deficiencies in the Meditech system to be completed by physicians and other health care professionals. Responsible for the retention, retrieval, and maintenance of patient health information in all formats. Expedites priority release of information to achieve an optimal patient and/or provider satisfaction.

The employee must be able to follow directions and to perform work according to the department standards.

• High school diploma required, Associate Degree in Health Information Technology or related field preferred.
• Previous Health Information/Medical Office experience preferred.
• Experience with an electronic and/or hybrid health information system preferred.
• Extensive knowledge of state and federal release of information/confidentiality guidelines.
• Knowledge of RAC, MAC, MIC, CERT and all other payer, state and federal requirements for complying with requests for information.
• Ability to read, comprehend and relay regulatory requirements, guidelines and information in order to ensure compliance with such information.

This is a full-time position working Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm. Other hours may be required for the effective operation of the department.
