Production Manager, Lean Manufacturing / Six Sigma, Manufacturing & Industrial Operations
Job Description
Day-to-Day:- Lead a team of 10–15 hourly manufacturing employees (assembly, fabrication, welding)
- Walk the production floor to monitor operations and ensure efficiency
- Conduct daily schedule reviews and adjust resources as needed
- Coordinate staffing, training, and production priorities
- Oversee employee training including:
- oLMS/corporate training
- oOperational and production training updates
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives and lean practices
- Analyze production data and trends to improve output and efficiency
- Collaborate with cross-functional supervisors (materials, maintenance, operations)
- Ensure adherence to safety and operational standards
- Support reporting needs and act as backup leadership when required
Insight Global is seeking a Manufacturing Supervisor for a heavy manufacturing client. This individual will lead a team within a large-scale production environment, driving efficiency, safety, and continuous improvement initiatives. They will be responsible for overseeing daily operations, aligning resources with production needs, and ensuring schedules are met while maintaining a strong team culture. The ideal candidate is a hands‑on leader with a strong lean manufacturing background, capable of making data‑driven decisions and mentoring team members for long‑term growth.

- 5+ years of leadership experience managing teams in manufacturing (10+ years manufacturing overall preferred)
- Experience leading diverse hourly teams in a production environment
- Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement (CI)
- Data-driven mindset with experience using:
- oSAP (or similar ERP systems)
- oExcel for analysis
- Experience making statistical/data-based decisions
- Background in heavy manufacturing environments (metal fabrication, assembly, welding)
- Proven ability to develop and mentor team leads
- Strong change management and communication skills
- Experience with safety protocols and compliance
- Ability to report out to multiple leadership levels and step in for senior leadership when needed
- Bachelor’s degree (preferred)
- Certifications in Lean / Six Sigma or related methodologies
- Experience with Power BI or other data visualization tools
- Experience supporting production forecasting and balancing production gaps
