Hog Slat, Inc. is the world’s leading provider of parts, equipment and turn‑key construction to the swine & poultry industries. The Grower Select brand replacement parts & equipment are designed and tested by an in‑house engineering team. Prior to distribution, all parts must be quality checked for accuracy.

The Quality Inspector will measure products to verify conformance to specifications. Tools include rulers, calipers, gauges and micrometers. The inspector will mark and inspect materials as they arrive, ensure they match purchase orders, report discrepancies and recommend corrective action when issues arise.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Inspection of fabricated, electrical, molded, cast and coated products.
  • Identification of quality issues and ability to take quick corrective action.
  • Communicate quality control information to all relevant departments, outside vendors or contractors.
  • Work with Purchasing and Engineering departments to ensure quality requirements and expectations are fully met.
  • Document inspection results.
  • Track returned products, defects, test results and other control data.
  • Grade, classify and sort defective products.
  • Collect and maintain quality data.
  • Perform initial First Piece Inspections (FPI) on new products.
SKILLS / KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED
  • Working knowledge of Quality Systems and Principles.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Operating knowledge of test and measurement equipment such as calipers and micrometers.
  • Good mechanical and electrical aptitude.
  • Ability to read documentation and make fact‑based decisions and root‑cause analysis.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints and wiring diagrams.
  • Understanding of product assembly drawings.
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks effectively.
  • Experience in a Lean System/Six Sigma environment preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience in technical writing.
