IEP Facilitator
Position Summary

The IEP Facilitator is responsible for the development, completion, and maintenance of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for assigned students. This role involves maintaining accurate student records and collaborating with personnel to design service plans for students with special needs. Additionally, the Facilitator provides training and support to special education staff to enhance the district’s capacity to produce quality, compliant documentation.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Compliance Management: Support special education teachers in meeting all state and federal timeline requirements for Initial, Subsequent, Amended, and Interim IEPs, as well as eligibility re-evaluations.
  • Documentation Quality: Demonstrate high-level skill in developing compliant IEPs and maintain all appropriate documentation related to the special education process.
  • Staff Support: Provide professional development and ongoing guidance to Special Education Teachers to improve their skills in drafting quality IEPs.
  • Regulatory Adherence: Follow all district and state rules, regulations, and guidance regarding special education compliance mandates.
  • Collaboration: Model core organizational values and communicate effectively across teams to maximize student success and maintain professional relationships with parents and staff.
  • Conflict Resolution: Utilize effective interpersonal and communication skills to ensure all interactions with stakeholders remain supportive, courteous, and respectful.
  • Records Maintenance: Develop and maintain systems for information retrieval; secure and file all physical and computerized reports and records.
  • Professional Growth: Participate in campus committees and Special Education meetings as requested; pursue professional development aligned with district goals and current research.
  • Confidentiality: Maintain strict confidentiality regarding student and district information at all times.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree.
  • Certification: Valid Oklahoma Special Education Teacher certificate or appropriate Related Service licensure.
  • Communication: Proven ability to communicate effectively in both verbal and written forms.
  • Collaboration: Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, staff, parents, and the community.
  • Initiative: Ability to work independently, demonstrate self-discipline, and follow state and district guidelines.
