Position Overview

The Sanitation Operator role functions as a member of an area team that is directly responsible for general labor assignments within the plant. Duties include janitorial, sanitation, forklift, climbing ladders, etc. The operator must ensure efficiency, operational conformance, product quality and continuous improvement, and train/performance tasks of other associates as needed. Strong communication, interpersonal, and team building skills are required.

Key Responsibilities
  • Performs all assigned activities and job tasks within a line or area.
  • Follow all lock out tag out procedures.
  • Maintain proper GMPs for the site.
  • Operate equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Takes corrective actions to solve problems to root cause level.
  • Implement site and corporate Food Safety and Sanitation initiatives.
  • Work in conjunction with the quality team.
  • Assist in managing waste and recycle streams for the site.
  • Participate in Food Safety inspections and reports.
  • Execute Master Cleaning Schedule.
  • Must be forklift certified or able to qualify.
  • Operate aerial lift and material movement equipment.
  • Assess equipment operating reliability and perform routine repairs, adjustments and malfunction troubleshooting.
  • Perform all shift support documentation in a quality matter.
  • Demonstrate high degree of ownership for product quality: performing all standard quality checks and other quality related duties.
  • All associates are responsible for safety, quality and food safety in their work area.
  • Standing on a concrete floor.
  • Wear proper personal protective equipment (hair net, bump cap, ear plugs, safety shoes, and uniform).
  • Bend, stoop, twist, turn, stand for extended periods, reach, climb stairs, and lift up to 55 lbs.
  • Adapt to temperature and environmental extremes such as heat, cold, dust, dirt and chemicals.
  • Work at heights.
  • Work in confined spaces.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Be 18 years of age or older.
  • Have a high school diploma, GED or equivalent education.
  • Willing and able to work and accept varying shifts and schedules.
  • Ability to understand and effectively communicate in English.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 3+ years of manufacturing experience operating a variety of machines.
  • 2 years of work experience within manufacturing, or a technical and/or trade discipline.
  • Demonstrated competency in computer and PC software including MS Office, Google and email.
  • Knowledge of inventory control principles.
Compensation and Benefits

Salary Range $16.75 - $19.70 USD. Pay is determined based on experience, qualifications, and location. Salaried employees may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses, profit-sharing, and long-term incentives for Executive-level roles. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, basic life insurance, paid parental leave, disability coverage, participation in the 401(k) retirement plan with company matching contributions subject to eligibility, a minimum of 15 vacation/PTO days (hourly employees receive a minimum of 120 hours) and 13 paid holidays, and adjusted paid sick leave based on role and local laws.
