Key

Qualifications:

• Valid certification in Deaf/Hard of Hearing education
• Experience or strong background in teaching K-12 students who are deaf or hard of hearing
• Understanding of various communication approaches, including American Sign Language (ASL), auditory/oral, or total communication methods
• Ability to develop and adapt individualized education plans (IEPs)
• Strong collaboration skills to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams, families, and general education staff
• Passion for fostering student growth, self-advocacy, and inclusion

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct instruction, support, and modification of curriculum for students who are deaf or hard of hearing in a variety of school settings
• Develop and implement tailored lesson plans aligned with IEP goals and state standards
• Collaborate with general education teachers, specialists, and families to ensure equitable access to the learning environment
• Monitor student progress, maintain detailed records, and participate in IEP meetings
