Role Description

This is an on-site, full-time position for an Elementary Assistant Principal at Thornwell Charter School in Clinton, SC. The Elementary Assistant Principal serves as a key member of the school's leadership team, providing instructional and operational leadership to support student achievement and school success. The Assistant Principal works closely with the Head of School and fellow Assistant Principals to implement the school's vision, foster a positive school culture, and ensure effective daily operations.

This position collaborates with teachers, staff, students, families, and community stakeholders to create a safe, engaging, and high-performing learning environment for students in grades 5K-5th.

Qualifications Required
  • Master's Degree
  • Tier 1 or Tier 2 Principal Certification
Leadership Qualifications
  • Knowledge of South Carolina academic standards, accountability systems, and state assessment requirements.
  • Strong instructional leadership skills with the ability to support, coach, and evaluate teachers to improve student achievement.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with the Head of School, Assistant Principals, teachers, staff, students, families, and community stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze data, implement school improvement initiatives, and support continuous academic growth.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to foster a positive school culture that promotes student success, staff development, and family engagement.
  • Knowledge of effective student discipline practices, behavior interventions, and school safety procedures.
