Ready to serve a community where your work truly matters? The City of Clinton Police Department is seeking dependable, community-minded individuals to join our team as Police Officers.

Certified law enforcement officers are preferred; however, all qualified applicants are encouraged to apply.

Under limited supervision, the Police Officer responds to emergency and non-emergency calls for service, protecting lives, property, and community safety.

• Conducting routine patrols and responding to calls for service
• Enforcing applicable federal, state, and local laws
• Responding to vehicle collisions and emergency situations
• Preparing accurate reports and maintaining case documentation
• Participating in required training
• Supporting community outreach and public-relations events
• Performing other related law-enforcement duties as assigned

• Be at least 21 years of age
• Possess a high school diploma or GED recognized by the South Carolina Department of Education or another state
• Possess and maintain a valid South Carolina driver’s license and satisfactory driving record
• Be physically and psychologically capable of performing the essential duties of the position
• Remain calm and exercise sound judgment in stressful or emergency situations
• Possess strong oral and written communication skills
• Be able to understand and interpret technical and legal information
• Be capable of occasional strenuous physical activity
