Overview
Nordson Industrial Coating Solutions is a global leader in industrial coating solutions. We are looking for an experienced and highly motivated Buyer to support manufacturing operations and business objectives by sourcing materials and managing supplier performance for assigned product lines or commodities.
EssentialJob Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage procurement activities for assigned materials, commodities, or product lines to support production and business requirements.
- Maintain accurate material master data, purchasing records, and supplier information in applicable systems.
- Negotiate pricing, lead times, and supply terms to support cost, quality, and delivery objectives.
- Monitor supplier performance and drive improvements in on-time delivery, quality, and responsiveness.
- Support cost reduction and sourcing initiatives in alignment with commodity strategies and operational goals.
- Manage scheduling agreements, vendor-managed inventory programs, and material availability to minimize supply risk.
- Build and maintain effective supplier relationships to ensure continuity of supply and service excellence.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, business, logistics, or a related field required.
Skills and Abilities
- Strong negotiation, planning, and analytical skills.
- Working knowledge of procurement processes, supplier management, and cost improvement initiatives.
- Ability to read and interpret basic engineering drawings and product specifications.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective problem-solving skills and the ability to make timely, sound decisions.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively across functions and with suppliers.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
- Experience with ERP systems such as SAP is preferred.
- Lean manufacturing experience or exposure is a plus.
