LPN Nursing Telemetry

Shift schedule is 3 nights per week from 19:00 to 07:30. Weekend coverage is required every other weekend, but may vary based on facility needs. Floating to other units may be required. The patient age group primarily includes adults and geriatrics. Patient diagnoses involve inpatient adults experiencing life-threatening multisystem or cardiac conditions. Common cardiovascular diagnoses include sepsis, myocardial infarction, unstable angina, and coronary artery disease.

The patient population may also include those undergoing IV antiarrhythmic therapy, vasoactive infusions, and anticoagulation. Key skills needed for this role include blood glucose monitoring, colostomy and ileostomy management, feeding tube care and management, and adherence to isolation precautions. Telemetry experience is essential, with a typical patient ratio of 5:1. Interdisciplinary support includes physical therapy, respiratory services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, pharmacy, and transportation.

Candidates must possess strong patient care and monitoring skills relevant to the telemetry unit.
