Roles and Responsibilities
1) Develop new processes, assess and document new and existing processes.
2) Implement and evaluate changes to existing processes designed to improve product quality, productivity and overall equipment efficiency.
3) Provide technical leadership and mentorship to process technicians, operators and other molding personnel.
4) Develop and maintain process documentation ensuring that processes and procedures are clearly stated and understandable for all employees.
5) Provide technical support/solutions to manufacturing processes, improve yield and throughput, drive cost reduction activities, cycle time efficiency, scrap reduction and improve on part quality.
6) Demonstrated ability to start-up, operate and shut down process related equipment.
7) Must be able to work independently on new process development as well as troubleshooting current production issues.
8) Work with equipment and material vendors to resolve machine and material issues
9) Monitor and report issues with injection molds, make recommendations for refurbishment based on production factors such as cycles, process capability and tooling history. 10) Interact with customers to resolve issues and provide new project updates 11) Implement technical solutions including statistical methodology to meet customer cost, quality, and delivery expectations. 12) Robot programming, EOAT repairs and possible builds. 13) Facilitate and support facility and manufacturing safety, environmental, and ergonomics efforts.
Job Requirements 1. Working Experience 8 year's experience in a similar automotive Injection Molding facility
2. Education Preferred B.S. Degree in Plastics or Mechanical / Industrial Engineering with 3+ years' experience with Injection Molding of High-Performance Polymers; or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
3. Knowledge
Skills and Abilities
1) Strong and diverse technical background in injection molding processing, tooling, equipment, materials, manufacturing and quality.
2) Self-starter must be able to work with little direction and with a high level of self-motivation.
3) Excellent computer skills, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
4) Demonstrated superior communication (written and verbal), teamwork, and organizational skills.
5) Ability to lead others, responsibility may include indirect supervision of process technicians.
6) Must be able to multi-task in a fast-paced production environment while offering motivation and technical support to other team members.
7) Knowledge of robot programming and EOAT.
8) Demonstrated ability to think out of the box and recommend options.
