Provide engineering leadership and technical direction to ensure safe, stable, and efficient paint line operations.
Lead new paint line setup and continuous improvement to achieve quality, productivity, and cost targets.
ResponsibilitiesII-2-1. Process & Equipment Engineering Leadership
- Lead overall paint line engineering activities to achieve safety, quality, delivery, and cost targets.
- Oversee new paint line installation, process validation, equipment commissioning, and production launch.
- Plan and execute CAPEX projects related to ovens, AHU systems, robots, conveyors, and RTO systems.
- Provide technical directions to ensure stable and efficient operation of paint equipment and utilities.
II-2-2. Process Optimization & Quality Improvement
- Drive strategic initiatives to reduce defects, improve first-pass yield, and maximize OEE.
- Troubleshoot complex paint defects such as adhesion issues, dirt, sagging, orange peel, and curing failures.
- Optimize process parameters including temperature, humidity, airflow balance, curing profiles, and paint viscosity.
- Collaborate with production, quality, and maintenance teams to enhance line stability and performance.
II-2-3. Profitability & Organizational Contribution
- Identify cost reduction opportunities and improve productivity to enhance plant profitability.
- Ensure compliance with environmental and safety regulations, including VOC and HAPs management.
- Mentor and develop junior engineers and technical staff.
- Provide regular technical updates and performance reports to manager.
Work Experience
- Minimum 15 years of experience in automotive paint line or coating process engineering.
- Previous supervisory experience required, preferably in an automotive environment.
Education
College degree in a technical field, or equivalent experience and training.
Black belt and lean training preferred.
Knowledge,
Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of Tier-1 automotive manufacturing environments and production standards.
Knowledge of new paint line installation, process validation, and mass production launch.
Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
Knowledge of CAPEX planning, project execution, and cost control practices.
Analytical and problem-solving skills related to paint process optimization and defect reduction.
Leadership skills with the ability to guide engineers and technical staff.
