Engineering Manager (Machining & Assembly)

The Engineering Manager leads engineering initiatives, ensuring efficiency, quality, and innovation. This role requires expertise in project planning, process design, and process control, with a strong background in automotive manufacturing standards.

Responsibilities

  • Manage members in the Production Engineering Department (Machining & Assembly)
  • Oversee the design and development of Machining and Assembly projects.
  • Ability to develop annual and semi-annual action plans that correspond with the company initiatives.
  • Lead process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, reduce defects and reduce carbon footprints.
  • Collaborate with production teams to troubleshoot and resolve manufacturing issues.
  • Ensure compliance with industry, company standards, and safety regulations.
  • Manage engineering projects, budgets, and timelines.
  • Train and mentor engineering staff on best practices in machining/assembly.
  • Work with suppliers and vendors to source materials and equipment.
  • Analyze production data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Submits proposals to management for consideration and allocation of funds from the department budget.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree, or 7+ years related experience and high school diploma or G.E.D., or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong knowledge of machining, assembly, and process optimization.
  • Leadership experience in managing engineering teams.
  • Previous experience within the automotive industry
  • Proficiency in GD&T, CAD software and simulation tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
