Job Description & How to Apply Below

The Role

As Controller US
, you are a core member of the Finance US team and report directly to the Director of Finance US
, a member of the U.S. Leadership Team and the primary business partner to Operations.

This role is deliberately focused on the financial backbone and cost mechanics of the U.S. operation. You ensure financial accuracy, cost transparency, and disciplined execution across manufacturing and packaging activities. You translate operational reality into reliable, audit-ready financial data the business can trust.

You also provide direct line management to the AP/AR Clerk
, ensuring strong execution, accuracy, and control across transactional finance processes. This is a hands‑on role combining deep cost accounting expertise, operational finance ownership, and focused people leadership in a lean finance organization.

A Day in the Life

Your day may start with reviewing cost variances across labor, materials, and overhead, followed by discussions with Operations to understand root causes and corrective actions. You validate inventory balances, review pricing accuracy ahead of invoicing, and ensure revenue and costs are matched correctly by period.

Throughout the month, you safeguard financial close quality, maintain internal controls, and prepare clean financial statements leadership can rely on. You coach the AP/AR Clerk on priorities, cutoff discipline, and audit readiness. By the end of the day, you’ve strengthened cost transparency, protected margins, and reinforced financial rigor across the site.

What You’ll Do Cost Accounting & Margin Transparency
  • Own standard costing and actual cost analysis across labor, materials, and overhead.
  • Lead variance analysis and translate deviations into clear, factual root causes.
  • Continuously improve BOM accuracy, routings, labor standards, setup assumptions, and overhead allocation.
  • Ensure true cost visibility at job, SKU, and customer level.
  • Deliver accurate, timely, GAAP‑compliant financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow).
  • Safeguard data integrity and ensure leadership receives clean, defensible numbers.
  • Maintain disciplined close processes and reporting timelines.
Internal Controls & Audit Readiness
  • Design, maintain, and enforce strong internal controls.
  • Ensure audit‑ready processes, documentation, and compliance with internal and external requirements.
  • Proactively identify financial and control risks and close gaps early.
Billing Accuracy & Revenue‑Cost Matching
  • Ensure pricing accuracy prior to invoicing.
  • Maintain correct revenue and cost matching by period.
  • Monitor pricing history and margin drift.
  • Ensure all chargeable costs (tooling, dies, lab work, extras) are billed accurately and on time.
  • Own inventory valuation, write‑offs, obsolete stock governance, and customer‑owned inventory billing.
  • Improve working capital through inventory accuracy, AR discipline, and cash controls.
  • Support budgeting and forecasting with fact‑based, operationally grounded inputs.
  • Track performance versus plan and clearly surface variances and corrective actions.
Process Improvement & Systems Rigor
  • Continuously improve finance processes, data quality, and reporting efficiency.
  • Support ERP optimization and master data integrity.
  • Experience with QAD and/or IFS is a strong advantage.
  • Provide clear direction, coaching, and quality standards for the AP/AR Clerk.
  • Ensure disciplined execution, prioritization, timely close activities, and strong audit support.
What We’re Looking For
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred).
  • 3–5 years of experience in accounting or cost accounting, preferably in manufacturing or a GMP-regulated environment.
  • Strong hands‑on experience with standard costing, variance analysis, and inventory accounting.
  • Solid understanding of financial reporting and internal controls.
  • ERP experience required; QAD and/or IFS preferred.
  • Highly analytical, detail-oriented, and structured.
  • Comfortable combining hands‑on execution with focused people leadership.
  • Clear communicator who collaborates effectively with Operations, Finance, and auditors.
