Anderson County EMS provides 911 emergency response and convalescent transport for more than 80,000 residents across 345 square miles. We respond to more than 20,000 calls each year. The work is varied, the clinical decisions matter, and you will be part of a team that supports one another through demanding calls and everyday growth.

As an EMT, you will be expected to practice to the full scope authorized by your license, our protocols, and medical direction. On appropriate calls, you will have opportunities to assess patients, make clinical decisions, and perform EMT interventions as an active member of the care team.

Our crews have access to equipment and protocols that help them deliver thoughtful, capable care:

• LIFEPAK 35 cardiac monitors and LIFEPAK 1000 AEDs
• Progressive clinical protocols

We want providers who take pride in their craft, use these resources well, and keep learning as patient care evolves.

We teach our Advanced EMT program in-house annually. Our Career Development Program offers leadership, clinical specialist, training specialist, community relations specialist, and rescue specialist pathways, with a pay increase for each level achieved. We also provide extensive on-site training at no cost and paid hours to complete state and National Registry requirements.

Our mission is to care for our community. That includes the people doing the work. We aim to give employees the support, resources, and room to develop that make a lasting EMS career possible. We are still learning and improving, and we value team members who want to help us do that together.

Our station-based system uses move-ups as needed to maintain coverage. Current operations include six 24-hour ALS units on a 24/72 rotation, two 12-hour daytime ALS units, and five BLS units on varied schedules.

• EMT starting pay: $17.11 per hour, with higher rates based on experience
• 14 paid holidays each year, regardless of schedule, plus vacation, sick leave, and personal paid time off
• Overtime pay for hours worked over 40 in a week

Monthly medical plan rates vary by selection: single $50–$180; employee plus one $160–$380; family $275–$490.
