Pet Supermarket is a large retail operation dedicated to providing Pet Parents with pet care items and passionate customer service. This opportunity is for shifts leaders who lead the Sales Associate team, encourage cross-team collaboration, and serve as a Manager on Duty when necessary. Our team helps Pet Parents with all their pet needs and strives to make a difference in the community.

• Lead the Sales Associate team to drive sales, service, and customer experience initiatives in-store to achieve sales, KPIs, and store performance goals.
• Prioritize, assign, and delegate daily goals and tasks to the associate team and ensure proper completion when acting as manager on duty.
• Maintain professionalism and a positive attitude in communication, both verbal and written.
• Partner with the Store Manager to plan and execute community events and develop relationships with rescue agencies.
• Maintain a safe and clean store environment, including the care and well-being of all livestock.
• Lead customer engagement using selling and service models and provide excellent customer sales assistance.
• Support store operations and team building, including maintaining store standards and safety requirements.
• Clean pet enclosures, provide appropriate food and water for animals, and assist with maintaining the fish system.
• Assist with restocking merchandise, moving products from the stockroom to the sales floor, and inventory accuracy.
• Open and close procedures; communicate concerns about performance gaps to the Store Manager or Assistant Store Manager for timely resolution.
• Support new hire training and merchandising guidelines; participate in community events and partnerships with rescue agencies.
• Complete tasks and other duties as assigned by store management.

• Minimum 1 year of retail or customer service experience.
• Enjoy working with and around animals.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including mornings, evenings, weekends, and/or holidays.
• Valid driver’s license and access to a motor vehicle preferred.

• Heavy lifting up to 55 lbs may be required several times during a shift.
• Most tasks are performed on the selling floor; standing and moving for extended periods.
• Active listening and observation required when interacting with customers and merchandising.
• Work environment is temperature-stable; may occasionally require working alone.
• Potential for accidental injuries from pets; common injuries include slips/trips/falls and strains.
