POSITION SUMMARY

The Project Manager, Enterprise Operations & Strategic Initiatives is a strategic leader responsible for planning, executing, and sustaining high-impact organizational initiatives that advance UCI's mission, vision, and strategic objectives.

This position partners closely with executive leadership, physicians, operational leaders, clinical teams, and external partners to lead complex, cross-functional projects across areas including:

  • Clinical operations
  • Strategic growth initiatives
  • Business development

  • Patient experience
  • Revenue cycle optimization
  • Ambulatory practice operations
  • Organizational transformation

The Project Manager will serve as UCI's subject matter expert in project management methodologies, helpingestablishorganizational standards, governance structures, project prioritization processes, and accountability frameworks that ensure strategic initiatives are executed successfully and deliver measurable value.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Strategic Project Leadership
  • Lead enterprise-wide projects from initiation through implementation and post-project evaluation.
  • Develop project charters, business cases, project plans, schedules, budgets, communication plans, and success metrics.
  • Facilitate project governance structures that support efficient decision-making and accountability.
  • Manage project scope, resources, dependencies, risks, and timelines while ensuring alignment with organizational priorities.
  • Ensure strategic projects deliver measurable operational, clinical, financial, or patient experience outcomes.
Operations & Process Improvement
  • Partner with leaders and physicians toidentifyopportunities for workflow optimization and operational excellence.
  • Lead initiatives focused on improving efficiency, standardization, quality, access, and patient outcomes.
  • Support implementation of Lean, continuous improvement, and change management methodologies.
  • Develop sustainable processes that improve organizational performance across departments.
Technology & Innovation
  • Lead implementation of clinical, operational, and business technology solutions.
  • Coordinate system integrations, workflow redesign initiatives, and process automation projects.
  • Partner with stakeholders to support adoption, training, and sustained optimization ofnew technologies.
  • Evaluate operational impacts and ensure technology solutions align with business needs and strategic goals.
Facilities & Growth Initiatives
  • Lead project planning and execution for construction, renovation, expansion, and facility optimization initiatives.
  • Coordinate efforts among leadership, physicians, consultants, architects, contractors, and vendors.
  • Support operational readiness planning for new facilities, service lines, and strategic growth initiatives.
Change Leadership
  • Develop and execute change management strategies that support successful project adoption.
  • Facilitate stakeholder engagement throughout project life cycles.
  • Build alignment among physician, clinical, and administrative teams.
  • Address barriers to change through communication, collaboration, and influence.
Executive Communication
  • Prepare executive dashboards, presentations, and status reports.
  • Present project recommendations, risks, and outcomes to organizational leadership.
  • Translate complex information into actionable insights and clear decision-making frameworks.
  • Ensure transparency and effective communication throughout project life cycles.
