Title: SMC Project Manager/Estimator
Reports to: SMC General Manager
Status: Full-time/Exempt

Job SummaryThe Estimator / Project Manager will oversee insurance restoration projects from initial assessment through final completion, starting at the construction phase. This role combines accurate estimating with hands‑on project management to ensure repair projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in compliance with insurance requirements and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities Estimating & DocumentationInspect residential and commercial properties for accurate repair estimates due to fire, water, mold, etc.
- Prepare detailed repair estimates using Xactimate
- Review insurance scopes, policies, and adjuster reports
- Negotiate scopes and pricing with insurance adjusters
- Maintain accurate job files, photos, and documentation
- Manage construction projects from start to finish
- Develop project timelines, budgets, and schedules
- Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, and internal crews
- Ensure materials are ordered and delivered on time
- Monitor job progress and maintain quality control
- Conduct site visits and communicate updates to clients and stakeholders
- Serve as primary point of contact for homeowners, adjusters, and insurance carriers
- Provide clear expectations and regular project updates
- Resolve issues, change orders, and customer concerns professionally
- Ensure all work meets local building codes and regulations
- Follow OSHA and company safety standards
- Maintain proper permits and inspections
- 2+ years of experience in restoration, construction estimating, or project management
- Proficiency in Xactimate
- Strong understanding of insurance claims process
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Experience with fire, water, and storm damage restoration
- Knowledge of building materials, methods, and costs
- Strong organizational and problem‑solving abilities
- Proficient in industry standard restoration and office software
