About the Position
A reputable healthcare system in   Des Moines ,  Iowa   is recruiting a Locum-to-Perm Hematologist Oncologist to provide coverage across two hospital campuses. The physician will deliver comprehensive hematology and oncology services in both inpatient and outpatient settings with strong clinical infrastructure support.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced provider seeking schedule flexibility with long-term potential.

Job Responsibilities:

Deliver comprehensive Hematology/Oncology care

Manage inpatient and outpatient responsibilities

Provide chemotherapy management and therapy modifications

Conduct consults (40 minutes) and follow-ups (20 minutes)

Participate in call coverage

Utilize EPIC EMR

Collaborate with multidisciplinary oncology teams

Working Hours:

2 weeks on / 2 weeks off rotation

Clinic

Hours:

8:00 AM – 4:00 PM

On-call coverage required

Daily Volume: 10–30 clinic patients

Skills:

Advanced oncology treatment planning

Inpatient care management

Chemotherapy administration oversight

Strong communication and team collaboration

Telehealth capability

Requirements

Board Certified or Truly Board Eligible in Hematology & Oncology – Required

Fellowship Trained in Hematology & Oncology – Required

Active Iowa License or Active IMLC (LOQ required at name clear) – Required

Experienced provider – Required

Willingness to work at both hospital sites – Required

Clean Malpractice & Background – Required

NPDB Self-Query (within 30 days of presentation) – Required
