About the Position
Are you a Board-Certified Hematologist Oncologist seeking a flexible locums opportunity with strong clinical support and competitive compensation? We are seeking an experienced provider to deliver comprehensive medical hematology/oncology coverage in Des Moines, Iowa .
Enjoy a balanced 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off schedule , meaningful patient impact, and full travel support — all in a well-established practice environment utilizing Epic EMR.
Schedule
2 weeks on / 2 weeks off (with call)
4–5 clinic days per week
Clinic
Hours:
8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Patient Contact
Hours:
6 per day
No scheduled procedure/OR days
Call schedule: TBD
Practice Details
Inpatient coverage at two local sites in Des Moines
Telehealth available
Clinic volume: 10–30 patients/day
Average hospital census: 10–15 patients/day
Appointment times:
Consults: 40 minutes
Follow-ups: 20 minutes
1:1 dedicated nursing support
No APP supervision required
Full access to imaging, lab, and pharmacy services
Scope of Services
Patient assessments
Development and management of treatment plans
Chemotherapy management
Therapy adjustments
Referrals for ancillary services
End-of-life care coordination
Pain management collaboration
Radiation and surgical oncology services are supported by established on-site specialists with strong referral relationships.

✅ Requirements
Board Certified or Truly Board Eligible in Hematology & Oncology
Fellowship trained in Hematology & Oncology
Active Iowa license or IMLC
Clean malpractice and background history
Must be willing to cover both practice locations
Prior experience required
