Project Engineer, Manufacturing Engineer

to provide project engineering support for the cloquet manufacturing site. Main duties include engineering and managing capital projects from scoping through successful start-up, managing designers, vendors, consultants and contractors as required to complete projects in a safe, cost competitive and timely manner. Occasional maintenance technical support will also be required.

• manage multiple capital projects through all phases including pre-feasibility study, conceptual design, execution planning, detailed engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, optimization, and close-out.
• develop scope of work, schedules, and estimates for capital projects as required for budgeting
• provide technical engineering and project management oversight for the design, installation, and maintenance of plant systems.
• assist with troubleshooting related to operations and maintenance.

• a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, or equivalent.
• proven experience with industrial project management.
• experience in applying leadership and team skills.
• a working knowledge of microsoft office (word, power point, excel, project), sap, and autocad.
• experience with problem solving and decision-making techniques (ie. Kepner tregoe, six sigma, etc).
• perform root cause analysis and work with operations and maintenance to resolve repetitive issues and increase quality and productivity.
• proficiency in the development and management of long-term plans and budgets, project management and the reconciliation of actual expenditures to budget.
• strong verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills are required.
• experienced in piping design, process design, hvac, asme, and maintenance
