Its portfolio includes pulp used in textiles, a wide range of paper grades, packaging and specialty papers, together with innovative bio-based materials. These products serve diverse markets including textiles, printing and publishing, packaging, labelling and industrial applications.
the roleour client is seeking a strategic and experienced engineering project manager to lead a high-performing engineering team responsible for the delivery of major capital investment projects and the ongoing support of mill maintenance activities. Reporting into senior leadership, you will manage a team of technical specialists and project engineers while overseeing complex, high-value engineering programmes.
key responsibilities- lead and develop a team of nine direct reports, including project engineers and technical specialists.
- manage the planning, budgeting and execution of major capital projects valued between $50 million and $100 million from concept through to commissioning.
- provide strategic leadership and technical direction to ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget and to the required quality standards.
- work collaboratively with operations, maintenance and corporate teams to align engineering activities with wider business objectives.
- provide engineering support for plant maintenance and reliability initiatives where required.
- drive a culture of continuous improvement, innovation and professional development.
- ensure compliance with all health, safety, environmental and regulatory requirements.
- degree qualified in an engineering discipline.
- demonstrable experience leading large-scale capital projects valued at $50 million or more.
- experience gained within pulp and paper or other complex continuous process industries, as well as chemical processing, power generation, energy, mining, refining, metals or similar heavy industrial manufacturing environments.
- strong project management capability with a proven record of delivering major capex programmes on time and within budget.
- experience using erp systems, ideally sap.
- excellent leadership, communication, organisational and problem-solving skills.
- valid driver's licence.
