About the Position
As a Fairchild Tire Technician you will travel throughout the Fairchild Northern Market servicing Fairchild customers by dismounting and mounting all types of tires. We work on LP, diesel and electric forklifts, scissor and boom lifts and other equipment. This position provides a company‑owned/leased vehicle and requires a valid, good‑standing driver’s license. The role is 40 hours per week with flexible scheduling;
the technician must prioritize customer needs.
- Plan and coordinate daily/weekly work schedule and prioritize work orders.
- Operate a mobile tire truck while adhering to DOT rules and regulations; drive to customer sites to install tire pulls or new tires.
- Follow standard safety protocols when handling tires.
- Set up and operate the tire press to install tires and hubs according to specifications.
- Dismount and mount various tire types, remove lugs and fasteners from wheels and rims, and remove tire assemblies.
- Assist with loading and unloading tires.
- Communicate with customers regarding service timing and location.
- Secure customer signatures upon completion and verify documentation.
- Maintain and record inventory levels in the mobile tire truck.
- Monitor maintenance schedules and arrange for truck service.
- Clean and maintain all service equipment, the mobile truck, and the warehouse.
- Participate in job‑related training, safety program support, and related policies.
- Show willingness to take on additional duties as requested by the Service Manager.
- Class B CDL required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent time‑management skills and proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Ability to work in a high‑pacing environment.
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- Pay: $21–$36 per hour.

- Exert 75–100 pounds of force occasionally, 40–50 pounds frequently, or 15–20 pounds constantly.
- Frequent physical activity includes:
- Stooping, bending body downward and forward by bending the spine at the waist.
- Kneeling: bending legs at the knee to rest on a knee or knees.
- Crouching: bending the body downward and forward by bending legs and spine.
- Crawling: moving on hands and knees or hands and feet.
- Reaching: extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.
- Standing: remaining upright on feet, especially for sustained periods.
- Walking: moving on foot to accomplish tasks, often covering long distances.
- Pushing: pressing against something with steady force to thrust forward, downward, or outward.
- Pulling: exerting force to draw, drag, haul, or tug objects in a sustained motion.
- Lifting: raising objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally.
- Grasping: applying pressure to an object with fingers and palm.
- Talking: exchanging information by speaking at a level that is accurate, loud, and quick.
- Hearing: perceiving sounds at normal speaking levels and receiving detailed information orally.
- Occasional physical activity includes:
- Climbing or descending.
- Balancing to maintain body equilibrium.
- Fingering: examining objects by touching with skin, especially fingertips.
- Visual acuity requirements:
- Visible inspection of small defects and small parts or operation of machines.
- Environmental conditions:
- Indoor and outdoor work.
- Extreme cold: temperatures below 32 °F for more than one hour.
- Extreme heat: temperatures above 100 °F for more than one hour.
- Noise requiring shouting to be heard above ambient level.
- Hazards: proximity to moving mechanical parts, vehicles, electrical currents, heat, chemicals.
- Atmospheric conditions: fumes, dust, mists, gases, poor ventilation.
- Narrow aisles or passageways.
- Oil and other cutting fluid contact with air or skin.
