Interstate Waste Services seeks a Mechanic A to inspect, diagnose, and repair our fleet of waste and recycling trucks. In this safety-first role, you'll perform preventative maintenance, troubleshoot hydraulic, electrical, and braking systems, and complete DOT-compliant inspections. You'll work closely with drivers and operations to keep routes on schedule, using modern diagnostic tools and shop equipment. Responsibilities
- Inspect, diagnose, and repair waste collection trucks and related equipment
- Perform preventative maintenance and safety inspections per schedules
- Troubleshoot hydraulic, electrical, and braking systems
- Complete repair orders and documentation accurately and timely
- Collaborate with drivers and operations to resolve equipment issues
- Follow all safety policies, procedures, and PPE requirements
- Use diagnostic tools, hand tools, and shop equipment safely
- Support roadside or after-hours repairs when needed
